Peacocks

March 6, 2009

I admit, I have a folder of peacock porn.

I love her collections, bright colours mixed with her signature wrap dress. All interesting and all wearable.

Thank god I can distinguish between want and need

January 3, 2009

What 40 year old CEO doesn’t want to recapture their youth?!

Crayola crayon executive pen

I looove bubble wrap so this calender would be PERFECT for me!

Who doesn’t want a decapitated teddy bear sitting on their chest of drawers?!

Toast is good for everything, comforting you, warming you up, satisfying your hunger and now patching up your cuts!

I am the worst snooze button presser, especially if I’m getting up for school! This alarm clock would, in theory, be heaven sent, but most probably I’d end up cursing it every morning!

Are these not the most amazing colours? I usually detest birds but peacocks win me over.

Mmm, sales!

December 29, 2008

I’ve tried to torture myself this year and promise not to spend any money on new clothes, I have far too many as it is. But i still can’t help surfing Net-A-Porter and picking out my favourite sale items!

One from each category. ( I was spoiling myself, shhhh)

First up, dresses, I LOVE dresses so much, they’re my weak spot. They solve every fashion dilemma and are so easy to make outfits around, no matching colours or prints, plus, your favourite dress can make you feel like the US Bailout. (trillions of dollars if you all didn’t get that economic joke)

I’ve gone for a quite simple dress as my favourite this sale season as it is summer and I don’t care for fancy dresses during the hot months.

T Bags Poppy Belt Dress, usually 128.82 pounds down to 77.29 pounds.

Next, my favourite skirt, these are my second favourite item to wear, they flatter my lower half extensively! I’m undecided between the sequinny, sparkly one(i LOVE sequins) and the bright green ruffled one! In my dreams, I’d get both!

Moschion Cheap (yeah right) and Chic, was 744.94 quid, now a very very cheap 521.46 pounds.

Another Moschino Cheap and Chic, was 324.86, now 243.65.

Tops now, I’m not really a fan of them, I always find they’re cut unflatteringly for my arms or are just too short. But still, I have my favourites!

This one here I think is just perfect.

Matthew Williamson beaded chiffon tank, was 677.72, now 406.63

I’m not a fan of pants either, I think they look so weird in pictures and I’ve just seen too many horror stories to have them in a good light in my head. Saying that though, I found some shorts that I wouldn’t find having!

Vince Cotton twill shorts, was 112.03, now 78.42.

And also, I couldn’t help but throw these in here, they are awesome.

Philosophy Di Alberta Ferretti, was 520.89, now 364.62.

I’m gonna be honest here, I ain’t gonna do a favourite pair of jeans, to me, all jeans look the same in pictures, it’s when you try them on that you can truly say whether you like them or not. And I only wear one style of jeans and I can get them for NZ$60 from my closest Jeans West!

Again, I’m not a big fan of knit wear, I prefer my basic generic cardigan from Glassons than some of the fancy schmancy stuff out there. Although, in saying that, I can’t resist a bit of knitwear that disguises itself as something else.

Take this one for example, is it a trench coat? Is it a cardigan? Is it a plane?

Sonia by Sonia Rkyiel, I can’t even be bothered with the price.

But there are some redeeming cardigans on Net-A-Porter that COULD MAYBE POSSIBLY change the way I view knitwear.

Alexander McQueen, was 250.09, now 187.57

McQueen’s at it again, it’s such a simple idea but I’ve never seen it done before! It looks awesome.

I love jackets/coats that make a statement, be it an unusal design or a bright colour/print. Its so much more lively than your basic black coat.

Paul and Joe, was 649.73, now 389.84

Also, I gotta say, this one pulled on my heart strings too, it looks amazing comfy and warm, like wearing your duvet out on the street. It’s like a dream of mine, you wouldn’t have to get out of bed! Just wake up, wrap yourself out and off you go, down to the shops.

It’s by Rick Owens Lillies and it used to be 632.92, but it’s now 316.46, a bargain! (just in case you wanted to make my wishes come true, i’ve also added in the link there!)

Once again, not a fan of bikinis, but I love the print on this one.

D&G, was 162.43(why oh why would you pay that for a swimsuit?! thats a weeks paycheck!!), now 113.70(not much better to be honest)

Not really gonna show off the lingerie I want just in case there’s some creepy people reading this blog, and gonna skip the “activewear” as I think activewear is not really a fashion statement

Fav bag = VBH alligator compact clutch, was 2371.64, now 1185.82.

The jewelry section’s lacking a bit, it all looks a little tacky, but I did fall in like with this darling.

Tom Binns Neon stone cuff, was 553.21, now 387.25

I am a faithful shoe lover, I may window shop a lot, but once I buy a pair of shoes, as long as they are good to me, they will be worn until they fall apart. That being said, here are the shoes I keep coming back to check out, they’re just so damn sexy!

The colour, the colour, the colour!

Marni, was 280.06, now 196.04

The sequins, the sequins, the sequins!

Miu Miu, was 414.47, now 207.24

This belt is kind of amazing.

Emanuel Ungaro, was 1112.07, now 667.24.

And who couldn’t resist a matching set of gloves and a scarf embroidered with Swarovski crystals?

William Sharp, 192.12 and 78.89 pounds respectively.

Well that covers it for my post-christmas shopping, maybe sometime soon I’ll show you what’s on my christmas list which I didn’t get this year so y’all can get saving for next year!

Happy New Year!

I’m not in the mood for writing but I need to note these spectacular dresses down.

Butterfly dress.

Cutest little dress ever.

Love sequins.

Would be cute as a junior bridesmaids dress.

Keen for ball next year!

August 20, 2008

There’s so many gorgeous ball dresses and evening dresses out there it’s hard to choose just one. I wish we had at least five balls a year just so I could wear my favourite dresses as of right now!

The top five arrrrrrreeee:

1) Marchesa Beaded Gown

Isn’t it just wonderful, it looks so flattering and flowy and ahhhhhh (sigh of regret that i’ll never own it)

2) Temperley London Evening Dress

Same sort of style as number 1, tight bodice, long flowing torso/dress bit.

3) Embellished Olive Charmeuse Dresses by Faviana

Sorry for the little photo, it’s the best I could link to.

4) and 5) (it’s a toss up between which comes first) These aren’t exactly ball dresses as such. But are still delightfully flirty and glamourous.

Thirty six to go!

August 19, 2008

I’m so into wall decals. The easy simple way of updating a room. I want some bird and tree ones or even personalised quotes and what have you.

Rockett St George is a plethora for quaint unique items, I could spend up a storm here. Some of my favourite items are the Black Tree Tealight Holder, the Metal Foliage Magazine Rack, these awesome crinkled paper bins and this world map decal which I can’t seem to link to right now.

Are these not dreamy! Just imagine them placed on your deck table, the candle light illuminating all your wonderful dinner guests, a warm breeze floats over you and the crashing waves are the backdrop to your conversations. Heavenly!
